Happy May!

Happy first day of May. The weather is finally going to stay warm (I hope). I have been walking again. I think I am up to about 32 miles so far.

The trail is so peaceful. Sometimes, it's the only peace I get.

I have been away from here much lately--I am almost finished writing another poetry collection--my fifth, infact. I have been busy polishing up a few pieces, titled those untitled, and getting the cover designed.

I am so excited to be almost ready to get this one completed--each collection feels like another phase or chapter of my life.

Thursday is just one day closer to the weekend.

I have had a less than great week. I am quite angry with life right now.

I did play Beat the Garbage Men this past Tuesday--I won. (Barely.) They come earlier and earlier trying to beat me. Sneaky, sneaky. lol.

There is plenty of civil unrest... I think there will be a revolt soon. Heck, it's revolting now. lol.

It would be nice to get some sleep once in a while.

Hello, Saturday...

Ahh... my most relaxing day of the week. There was no real rush to get out of bed and do anything today. I didn't exactly get to sleep in--as I found decent sleep at 6:30 this morning (and slept until 8). It was nice--though it came with odd dreams of a place I don't think I've ever been.

In other news, I have accomplished almost nothing at all today--all day. That is the best. A nice, relaxing, lazy Saturday. If only every Saturday could be like this.

Happy weekend to all.

Tuesday... do you remember what Tuesday is?

Tuesday is Garbage Day! I played the usual weekly game of beat the Gabage Men. I won this time. There was a time a few weeks ago that I didn't exactly lose--but I wouldn't mark it a win.

There was still snow on the ground. I had that one last bag to take out. They come down my road and I hear them so I rush to get the bag out--only they beat me to the curb. I had no shoes on and the Garbage Man is right on sidewalk in front of my house. He is reaching distance of the bag in my out-stretched hand.

Does he take the trash from me? Nope. He makes me walk it to the curb in my socks. He grins at me. Apparently, still angry from the time in the summer of 2001 that his boss made him come back to my house on his lunch break to pick up garbage they left on purpose.

We have a long, tumultuous history, the Garbage Men and I. They left garbage once. After being forced to waste a lunch break to fetch it--they ran over my garbage can lids. Then the garbage cans themselves. They try to avoid picking up my garbage by turning down my road if my garbage isn't out early enough. (We have to take it out the day of or the raccoons will tear it open.)

It is ok, I do not mind the battles. It is kind of a fun game we play. (Unless it is the middle of summer and hotter than the Hades and my trash is stuck sitting in my entryway or sunroom an extra week... and smelling worse than a morgue during a power outage.)

I am done complaining. Thank you for reading. :)

A warm Sunday...

The weather is beautiful. 64 degrees F. Perfect.

I love to walk for miles--and that is precisely what I intend to do. It's very peaceful and calming.

In other news, I am nearly finished with poetry collection #5. I can't wait to finally get it done. This collection seems to be taking forever--there has been no shortage of setbacks.

In other, other news, an artist approached me and wants to collaborate on a children's book with me. (I've already written 5 kid's books.) I'm pretty excited about that.

I have been out in the world...

I have been walking again! The weather has finally broken! Almost 5 miles I walked Thursday. Another 5 I walked today. i am so tired--but so happy. Walking brings me peace.

I have been writing lately. Writing also brings me peace. I have been trying to think of and compile a list of all the things that bring me peace. That way, when I feel I need some peace--I can refer to my list. :)

Also, I've been trying to create a new poetry form. I will post an example:

~untitled~

Shards of sleep slice deep my peace,
these blankets, my shroud—entomb.
Counting miles of ceiling tiles;
my cell, this place, my room.

Fragments of thought abandon me not,
those images my sanity betray.
Glowing designs lay upon the blinds,
wayward streetlights peer in this way.

Splinters of mind lost not to time—
instead to love most deep.
I cry the years those countless tears
through insomnia riddled sleep.

Pieces of soul, heart covered in holes
my entirety pervaded by pain;
awaiting death with bated breath—
but I’d love you all over again.
***

I've been trying to research and see if I can find this form--perhaps I am not the creator--only stumbling upon it accidentally.

The rhyme scheme is

AA
B
CC
B

I have other forms I've been trying to develop as well. I haven't perfected them yet.

It certainly has been a while...

I think I might be back. I missed blogging.

A lot has happened since my last blog. It feels like a thousand years have passed.

I am still dark and creepy:

but, I got a haircut:

and a tattoo:

I have many things to write about. I have decided to take it easy on you for the first blog or two. lol.

Photos from the Park

Finally, I was able to re-upload at another site so that I might share my photos with all of you.

Lake Shore Park, Ashtabula, Ohio, USA:

There was a peacock, peahen, and little chicks in a separated enclosure:

(He's started molting already--a sign of a rough winter ahead.)

(Aww... mommy and babies. The Littlest Beastie and I were calling the babies 'chickpeas' since 'peachicks' didn't sound proper.)

Lake Shore Park

I have been in a very morbid, dark mood lately. So many battles to fight, I wonder how long I'll have the energy.

I was trying to visit a local cemetery or two yesterday. I begged. Pleaded. No dice. I thought it would be nice to go--I enjoy the quiet and peace that cemeteries seem to have--they are very calm and solemn. I craved that yesterday.

Instead, the Daddy Beast took the Littlest Beast and I for an Icee at the mall and then took us to the park. I took many pictures. I found that there was also peace for me at the park. I stood near the beach and watched the water, listened to the waves, looked at all the different birds.

I am currently having issues posting photos in my blog (photobucket isn't working for me...). As soon as I upload somewhere else or figure out the issue--I will post the pictures of my adventures for all to see.
