Poem

When Two Hearts Unite

Heart-to-heart,
I can hear yours beat.
Our true love is still so sweet—
Like nectar from a flower or
a candied apple with its glaze,
One love connection
—an everlasting phase.

Yours is the first face,
I want to see in the morning light.
The last one, after we’ve kissed goodnight.
Strong arms give a comforting embrace,
a shower’s fresh scent, upon your face.

When we’re together in a crowd,
It’s being with you,
That makes me most proud.
Kind one, your love warms my soul.
When two hearts unite,
You have a whole.
