A High Price to Pay

I saw you there
in your wheelchair
very young and handsome
While wondering how
you got there
I was remembering
you are my grandson
It's my greatest desire
you could have escaped injury
while under fire
on your tour-of-duty
The medal they gave you
doesn't take away the pain
but boy is it a beauty
A high price to pay
when you can't walk away
My heart goes out to you
and your bravery
God knows you're one
of the many who have
kept this entire country
from communist slavery
So be blessed my Son
you've paid the price
for helping the rest of us
live the American life

Marcia SchechingerLinda my grandson is 10 years old born with cerebral palsy and I still have not found the right words to say about how I admire him.
