Don't Cry

Don't cry upon my passing
I've lived a long and satisfying life
I have raised four beautiful children
With the most adorning wife

My life was full of memories
I shared with each of you
So do not cry upon my passing
Remembering will keep you from feeling blue

My stories will live on forever
Or as long as you allow them to
So wipe away those weeping tears
And remember I love you

You were always more than relatives
The best was you were my friend
I looked forward to your visits
And the cards that you would send

On this day of mourning
Think not of pain and sorrow
For I am watching over you
Today and all tomorrows

This day should be of celebration
Remembering what use to be
For I have always cherished you
As much as you have cherished me

I will always be there
Nightly when you pray
So don't cry upon my passing
We'll be together again someday

I leave you with a small request
For all who shared my life
Please watch over my dear beloved
My love, my world, my wife

Life is for the living
Memories should never die
Think back on all the time we've shared
And remember, please don't cry

Written for A Speical Friend as seem from her husbands eyes
I miss you.

Amanda Gandy A star in the sky reminds me of how bright you were A flower in the garden reminds me how beautiful you were A trolley in the trolley bay well reminds me of the way we rolled An elephant reminds me that you can not forget anything The ice coffee we use to drink any time of day The sunshine in the morning makes me smile because I think of you But you see all of those things can be taken away The stars can be covered by clouds A flower in a beautiful garden can die A trolley may never roll the same way An elephant may forget Someone could drink all the ice coffee in the world And the sun can be covered by a stormy day But I have to keep you inside so no one else sees the pain I miss you so I miss you here I wished that you never left But I loved you then And I miss you now But I’ll always love you But most of all I know I’ll see you again my friend! Angel SchmidtTo all who have commented.. I wrote this for a dear friend of mine. I read it at his funeral for his family. It is comforting to me that so many have gone on to use it. That is inspiration! Glad I was able to write it. It is very close to my heart and hope it will be helpful to family members. I had it printed and put on a plaque for the woman who lost her husband. It hangs in her living room.. Thanks again everyoneUSA2/25/2009 11:30:07 PM

Joseph NataleThis is such an emotionally powerful and touching poem. It takes great strength for one to do such a thing but everything you were feeling seems to have been produced into this poem. Truly remarkable. My beloved grandfather past just one month ago and I like to think of him as watching over me as I pray each night. May God Bless you and yours! -Joe NataleUSA1/28/2009 9:46:43 PM
