Poem

My footsteps in snow

It had snowed like never before
It had covered all in white
The air was so cold
The wind was so vile
The winter had come
With no warning
The birds had escaped
With no goodbyes
As I stepped in the pure white snow
I came across a tree frozen to bits
And thought to myself, if it was summer
This tree would have given me shelter
But not now, the snow had turned it into frost
Too dangerous to stay underneath
Too dangerous to expect protection
A protection that I so much needed
But I will keep walking
Carefully choosing my path
Elegantly leaving my trace behind
Hoping that one day at least one
One true spirit will follow my footsteps
Will continue my cause
Gracefully trodden footpath
My footpath that never got noticed.
