BROKE MY HEART

Girls night, wine and garlic bread,
Dad left with a six pack,
TV rights I hand back,
"Please love, put the kids to bed,"

Small one is so tired tonight,
He has had a big day,
Over-tired, some might say,
Playgroup Santa brought some light.

Sleepsuit wrapped he lays and smiles,
With a favoured Teddy,
Tells me when he's ready,
For some Daddy story miles.

Thomas Tank is choice tonight,
Percy breaks his piston,
Red Book makes him listen,
Story holds him oh so tight.

Now, story over, kisses,
Night nights, hugs and big tuck,
Put away tonight's book,
He dreams of baby wishes.

Duty done and beer calls, so,
Clip a can, ahh, sweet taste!
Never taken in haste..........
Half hour on, has he laid low?

Creep and take a sneaky look,
He's on the floor face down,
I gently turn him round,
He's lying on the Red Book....

Broke my heart, my little bob,
Scoop him back to his bed,
Softly stroke his young head,
Kiss him, leave, and choke a sob...
