Ballad Poems & School Poetry

POST UME
It was a battleOne of a kindBringing on warrriorsFrom both far and nearUnder the same roofFor a test of theirEducational prowess.Oh! What a tragedy of fateFor both the high and mighty. For the worst was yet to come,For ambitons were shatteredFor not meeting up to expectations.A kind of filteringIt turned out,Out the bad eggsLeaving behindA few good eggs.To imagine the proud soldiersPresent at battle that dayTo mention not the smart ladsArmed with swords at handWith shoulders rubbed with meOn that great dayOf POST UMEWho to never think ofEver meeting again in lifeFor a very long time.Oh! The tragedy that struckAt POST UME.A reasonable sum fought,But a few privilegedHeros like me survivedTo tell the taleOf the great POST UME.
