SEASONS IN SCHOOL (Italian sonnet)
Cold January, anxious students start school, February breezes by, kids settle in, Bright March, sports fever, students make a din, Watch out! April showers, squelchy shoes rule. Sprightly May, teacher’s day, being one is cool, Warm June, assessment time, learn smart to win, Dry July, sweaty shirts, sun hot on skin, Torrid August, need a dip by the pool. September’s promise! Hard work, bright future! October gives rewards, diligence pays. November dawdles, up one’s temperature, Chilly December welcomes holidays, A child needs a teacher, him, to nurture To be an adult with sweet loving ways,
