FLIGHT HOME
Skies mute with frothy cloudsbeckon me homeYet I am parallel with this universehigh above noise and purrsThrough windows thick as bifocalssteel wings beam and bow in the windSeamless blue is everywhere outside,an indescribable shade, maybe like the healing waters of ancient NileBelow patchwork fields lieetched like a new crossword puzzlewaiting for me to fill in the blanksA military man sits next to metapping a rhythm of sighs downing coffee, acceleratinghis restlessnessAs for me, I lean on the barrel shape windowcontent to look for heavenbut no cracks invade the blue bondageA ripple in the windgently rocks my metal carriergliding me homewardI would sleep, but the pagewould turnand the story of my life would continueSo I sit in complacencyfolded in the whiffs of whitewondering if I amtruly closer to heavenOr is this contentmentthe transparency of clipsof where I might wander in the hereafter
