Poem

Change In Destiny

I went back in time, with a simplistic plan,
To make a small change and remake who I am.
I had in my mind to get prints from Renoir,
And make cheap exchange of a big golden bar.

I made an account, at a well renowned bank,
Ten decades in trust - they thought it was a prank.
But when they found out I had ten grand in gold,
They had to adjust and do what they were told.

Now next on my list was a copyright name;
A business empire with a global acclaim.
I had to resist the temptation of greed,
As I could retire from this one little deed.

I’m shocked and confused now that I have returned,
That changes I made have become quite absurd.
My trust was abused and embezzled then closed,
My gold was low grade and it just decomposed.

The prints that I bought were not seen by the rich,
And caused old Renoir to die poor in a ditch.
The name that I thought would be taken and used,
Did not make it far; all requests were refused.

So now I sit near where my home used to be,
A small loading dock in a big factory.
I tremble with fear at what else is in store,
And wish it all back to how things were before.

Colin Fiat.

Marcia SchechingerColin you hit that one on the head - what an economic mess our "so be fortunes" have become with this economy. Make room in that "small loading dock" we all may be joining you soon :)USA11/7/2009 8:30:14 AM
