WAKE UP CALL

I had fallen under the spell
Of winter's haze;
Chill of the mornings,
Gray of the days,

Unaware was I how
Deeply I slept
How stealthily the feet
Of winter had crept,

Suddenly the birds
Whose chirps were weak and small
Are melodious and strong
From sunrise until the evening falls,

And sweet; the air
A potpourri of scents
Surround my being
I find my drowsiness
quickly fleeing,

My steps are lighter,
Faster now
My heart is full with joy,

Tis spring
Renew;
Awaken now
Hope and inspiration
For all the
Sleeping nations!

Dowell ObaThough you fall under winter's spell, you have lived to amazingly awaken under a new spring. Charming verse, Nancy, for the setting of spring, and with spring comes a new era of sprouting. So may you sprout in this wake up call and blossom with much accomplishments!Nigeria3/21/2010 3:18:33 AM
