| Felicia | this poem is beautiful. i lost my dad when i was 12 and in grade 6. he committed suicide in my dooryard when i was in school. losing a father or any loved on at that matter is so completely hard, and hard to overcome. I'm 14 years old && its really tough seeing him go through all the treatments... i pray every night && for all the other people out there that have any kind of sickness. | Ariel | I was 13 when I lost my daddy to cancer. I'm now 14. I remember the 3 am phone call saying he was in the icu becuase of extremily low blood pressure. I couldn't handle what was all happening. It feels like itwas yesterday. I still cry all the time even if it's in school, someone talking about there dads. It's still to much. I miss him soo much. He was my hero, and I loved him. I still can't belive it. He lost his battle to his 4th relaps to lukemia. I spent 3 of my birthdays in a hospital and my 14th bday without him. It was so hard to do. I cried on his shoulder in the hospital bed watching him die. I never thought this would happen. I'm never going to forget him. :.( I love&miss him so much. very accurately depicts the feelings of someone whose parent has been stricken with cancer, how they change and the mixed feelings that surface from "please don't die" to "please die so I can rememver you the way you were.."

| Ciera | To be honest I really liked this poem, to me it wasn't about losing a father due to death, it was about a father who has changed completely from what his family has known him to be, and because he has changed he has made decisions to leave the family, not caring who he hurts, he is only worried about "finding himself". Losing a father due to divorce is more like it. I know exactly what the author fealt like when she wrote this.
