NOT DADDYS LITTLE GIRL ANYMORE...

when things used to be easy
when time would just swirl
boys had cooties and clothes didn't match
she was daddy's little girl
she was everything they wanted
everything they had
but she's got a mind of her own now
which only makes them mad
she's not the way she used to be
changed for the best to say the least
just wants to have fun and live her life
but that simplicity has deceased
the frustration they cause her
just makes her want to scream
but how can she be polite
when you don't let her blow off steam
shes dying to find herself
but can't with tied down ropes
she wants to live her own life
but you won't let her cope
when she feels locked in a prison
locked behind closed doors
she's bound to do something worse
than if you just let her soar
she just wants to be herself
she's not trying to break the rules
she wishes you'd understand better
she doesn't want to take you as fools
you only want to protect her
which every parent should do
but overprotection is unnecessary
even if she's in love too
now you all must be wondering
who this girl must be
but I think the answer's quite obvious
the girl is...me
