MY SON, a poem by Grace Elizabeth Wood, USA

MY SON
You have changed so much, grown so tallI hardly recognize you at all.I can recall clear as day,The moment I found you were on the way.Ten little fingers, ten little toes,Thank God you have my nose! For eleven years I watched you grow,Held your hand and wiped your nose.It broke my heart; I could no longer stay,To help teach and guide you on your way.Too long we have been apart,But now the mending begins in our hearts.Your future lays ahead, mine is almost done.I am so very proud of you, my dear wonderful son.
