AUTUMN

Light is slowly dwindling,
As the sun slows in its twinkling.
The leaves of the aged have fallen
Merely naked fragile frames remain.
Icy winds splinter feeble corpses of the living,
Once made strong by the warmth of the Sun.
The face of man distorted,
His meek smile crumbles.

Day, is but a virgin whom Autumn
Hath ravished of its light.
Hushed droplets fall nimbly through the skies
Its arrival saddening the heart and penetrating the soul.
The heart now heavy and the soul now torn
The forlorn mind soon turns to contemplation
Its contemplation a sheer plunge into an infinite hole.
The countenance of man is battered
His humbled smile crumbles…
With the onset of Autumn.
