SUMMER
Winter, its windy blast Snow piled, funny you should ask Sometimes drifting to my windowsill As I get older, more and more I hate the chill Come spring, day's a bit longer Rain, lightning and thunder Always an ear to the weather, ready to seek cover I like summer, the warm sunny days Setting on my porch hearing children play I like to watch the flowers grow I love the pleasant smell of grass freshly mowed Weather has settled to warm sunny days Soothing old bones from winter's ache I enjoy a cold drink, iced tea, lemonade or even a brew Especially with family or a friend or two
