To A Friend of Mine
This is about a friend of mine. He's not human but canine.Eating and sleeping fills his day,With some time for scheduled play.A toss of the ball, a run in the park,A pat on the head, a contented bark.Bath time can be loads of fun.I'm all wet when the job is done. When I'm blue, he's always there,Next to me by my easy chair.Home from work, he licks my faceBanishing stress from life's rat race. Now the sun begins to setHis work is finished; he gave his best.Lay down next to me my faithful friend,My love for you will never end.
