MY DAD

You touched our lives in so many ways,
With the things you do and say,
Each and every day.

You taught us wrong from right,
To fight the good fight,
And in life to take delight.

When things in my life seemed to go wrong,
You would come along.
Told me to hold my chin high,
That things would be fine.

When things were rough,
You told me to get tough.
But to always have compassion,
And to live life with a passion.

I will not say good-bye,
Just because you have died.
I will say that I am going miss you,
I am sure that you knew.

Life goes on,
Even if you are gone.
It’s never going to be the same,
It is a real shame.

You taught me to live like there is no tomorrow,
And to not wallow in sorrow.
To enjoy the time we have now

Nicole KentMy dad died on Thursday 6th August 2009 and these words are how i would describe him, i miss him loads and i will try along wiv my Mum, 2 older Sister's and little brother to come to terms with such sadness. I am 18 yearts old and i just cannot cope at the minute, but this poem has made me realise what my dad taught me, He was 46 years old and he lived life to the full, he was in the army for many years and whilst in the army he became a professional Boxer. But diabetes got the better of him, he had been very poorly for 3 years but always fought for his life and for us kids. I love you dad, x x xHUddersfield8/12/2009 7:32:41 AM
