SOLDIER
Soldiers is a word,
That people talk about,
Some don't realize,
What being a soldier is really about!
Some don't take the time,
To really sit down and think,
That these men and women go through hell each day,
To keep you and me safe!
Whether they're on the beach of Hawaii,
Or a cold tunnel in Iraq,
Some are in a place we can't see,
Because Heaven's not on a map!
These men and women are brave enough,
To leave their families behind,
Do you think you could do that,
Or would you run and hide?
These people don't have a choice,
Whether they want to stay or go,
Because when you're in the military,
You never really know!
I can't talk from experience,
Because I'm not in the military,
But I am a sister of a marine,
Trust me it's really scary!
Sometimes I lie up and think at night,
How proud I am to say,
That my brother cares about you and me,
He fights for the USA!
When I want to help somebody,
Make their day a little brighter,
I pick up a pen and paper,
And write my brother a letter!
So I wish that you could see,
How brave you have to be,
My brother is my HERO,
Because he is my MARINE!
