GRANDPA

Grandpa I already
Miss you so much,
No more can I feel
Your very special touch.

For all fifteen years of my life
I’ve known and loved you so,
I will remember you forever
And always look at your photo.

Your art was phenomenal
Your friendship was the greatest,
You always drew me pictures
Because you were a wonderful artist.

I always loved being around you
You had the biggest heart,
I figured that you would be around forever
I never thought that we would be apart.

Now that you’re gone
All I have are the memories,
The one’s of us always being together
And you telling me all of your stories.

I remember when I was little
You took me to Speno Park,
All of the time that we spent together
Grandpa, you really left a mark.

All of the times that we went to Ben’s
The bat and bar mitzvahs you were there,
I wish this wasn’t happening
I wish it were just a nightmare.

Some people only stay for a couple of years
But you stayed for 81,
I hope those years were the very best
With you here they were the best for everyone.

The times we spent together
Were always really great,
I wish we could spend more time with each other
But now it is too late.

It’s too late to go back to Speno Park
It’s too late to play a card game,
It’s too late to do anything that we used to do
Without you, life will never be the same.

Grandpa, just promise me one little thing
That you will always wait for me,
One day I will be with you again
You just wait and see.

Love, Dana
