DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL
Is there a thing so sweetAs a father's loveFor his little girlWhom he’s always thinking ofHis hands stroke her cheekAs she lies on his chestIt was there she fell asleepIt is there where she likes it bestThe day had been a long adventureFor the little girlHer father sat and thought awhileAs he stroked her curlsThe little girl came running homeAfter her play dateThen her mother had to tell herThat her father would be home lateThe tears began to run Down the little girl's faceWhile she looked around the roomAnd at her father's empty placeWhen he got home, his little girlRan up to him and criedOh daddy, please stay here with meHer cheeks had not yet driedHe picked her up and sat her downUpon his big kneeAnd in his heart he felt so warmAs it filled with gleeShe nuzzled up against himAs they sat togetherThen she whispered in his earI want you here foreverShe kissed him and she fell asleepFor to her he meant the worldAnd at that moment he understood That she was daddy's little girl
