FOR MY FATHER
Snowflakes fell on city streetsSilent descent from the skyA soul’s new journey to the earthSounds of a newborn’s criesAngels gathered in heavenAs the soul made its wayTheir tears from separationThe joy in a mother’s painThe sunrise shone with graceful intentAnd snowflakes melt awayA first gaze in his daughter’s eyesThe father silently criesWaves of time crashed the beachRiptides of love and painPerfection of life’s complexitiesDrown melodies of lullabiesWaters recede, life goes onRevealing our path of stepping stonesLetting go of pain, we lighten our loadLet’s walk together againI love you fatherYou see – The sun’s up againHolding on to love, we have hope and faithFor I am Your Daughter, Ruth Grace
