THE GREAT ESCAPE
I open my eyes, and water surrounds me. It takes me a moment, To discover where I am.
As I swim around, I try to see, which way Is up or down.
I follow a bright yellow Fish to the bottom. He tells me to be careful, And swims along his way.
Everywhere I look I see, Brightly colored fish, And strangely shaped coral forests.
I start to swim to the surface, And I feel I'm being followed. I turn to see a big grey shark, Surging toward me.
I ask, "What's your hurry?" He tells me I'm his dinner, And cannot let me escape.
I swim with all my strength, Trying to reach the top. I know I have succeeded, When I hear the screech of seagulls.
The shark swims for me, With sharp, white teeth shining. Just before he bites my leg. . .
I wake up! It was just a dream.
