THE HAPPY COWBOY
The sun is shinin' so brightly, no cloud is in the sky, I'm just sittin' in my saddle, and holdin' my head high. The cattle are now movin', all I see is their tails, For we're headed down that old, old trail.
Happy cowboy, oh yes siree! I am just so happy, joy's burstin' from me. For this is a day, like the ones before; This is my life, couldn't ask for more.
The tumbleweed goes tumblin', as winds blow it away, There are antelope now grazin', though some just want to play. But as we come closer, they leap away and hide, Yet the sight of them still thrills me, And fills my yearnin' heart with glee, For it thrills me to watch how they glide.
The sun has gone to bed now, the cattle lie down; Then the sky takes the bright stars as a gown. As I sit there on my horse, guardin' cattle by night, No campfire is needed for light. The display I see above me is somethin' I enjoy, And it makes me a happy cowboy.
