WILD AT HEART, a poem by Lauren Marie Hadenfeldt, USA
Horses Poems

WILD AT HEART
This band of untamed horses, follow a path, and often change their courses. No one can tell them where to roam. They live in this wild pasture land called home.Nothing but wind can groom their manes. They gallop effortlessly on these stretching plains. They graze on this dry pasture, so wide. And only to themselves may they confide. They are quickly ready to defend or fight. And they shelter one another against the night.Who are "they" you may surprisingly ask. They are American Mustangs, and prosper with each and every task. But their spirits never will be tamed.Yet you can still ride them, and they can be named. In representing themselves, and in being free, they will gladly take part.Because they have, and always will, remain true to themselves, wild at heart.
