MY HERO
My hero wasn't perfectAnd no, he couldn't flyHe was just a mortalA normal passer-byMy hero was very specialAs special as can beHe died when I was only fourBut he was good to meHe'd listen to my storiesAnd always let me playNever once can I rememberThat he ever told me "nay"He died of "smoking cancer"And just like that he was goneHe left me with no answerTo what was right or what was wrongI can't believe he left meI can't believe he diedHe never ever broke a lawAnd never has he liedI didn't know what to do so I just criedI hid below the tableSo no one could see my tearsAnd watched my cousin with hatredAs she snickered and she sneeredJust before my hero diedHe gave a bear to meAnd if you look on my bed todaythen you would surely seeI still have that same old bearAnd I still call him BrownieI used to play and talk with himAnd he would always talk to meBut when my hero diedI hated that old bearBut just then I rememberedThe he'd always be thereFrom that day on, he's always had a soggy shoulder to cry onAnd if you'd like to knowWho my hero really isJust think about who is there for youAnd take a wild guessGo to a cemetary and look for an AngelAnd you'll find he's always thereMy hero was my GrandpaAnd you may call me crazyBut he would always carry meWhenever I was lazy
