BROTHER

I sit here and think,
my brother is dead,
how can you leave me,
runs through my head,
how can I think this,
I love him so much,
he is my brother,
I need him so much,
I sit here and think,
of what people will say,
gathered round his coffin,
death took him away,
I shouldn't write this,
but I need to tell,
how my body's on earth,
but my mind is in hell.

Mercia WindvogelIlost two brothers and I still miss them after all these years. Your poem says a lot about unspoken grief, especially the part "how my body's on eart, but my mind is in hell."South Africa3/5/2009 8:54:19 AM
ShirleyThis poem is so beautiful,i love it,losing a loved one is extremely hard but you get over it...not quickly.... but eventually..canada1/23/2009 7:13:34 PM
Stacy, Stefanie, JoyI and my sisters feel the exact same way. We HAD 2 brothers and both are now gone. The last was the BABY of the family and it is sooooo hard. Only time will help, and time is not passing fast enough for the healing to be felt. We pray that God will continue to keep all who have lost a loved one.USA7/20/2008 3:37:20 PM

Kristine TrudeauHannah: I've been there. I lost my brother, too. It's normal to have these feelings, and, believe it or not, time does heal. You will always miss him; it's the good memories that will keep him alive within you. Your poem expresses your feelings well. Keep writing, it will also help you to heal. My prayers are with you. Ashley M. IshamI like this poem. You do have the right to write down your feelings and all. Keep expressing your thoughts through poetry it's a great way to deal with the pain and let some go. I write poetry myself, I'm just more secretive about it. Keep up the great work on your poems!!!United States of America4/9/2007 3:13:48 PM
