A STARFISH
I felt like a baby being rocked gently back and forth in a cradle, as the boat met personally each and every wave.In the air was a fishy smell, mixed in with chocolate from the Reese's Pieces I had just swallowed. In the background was the humming of the boat motor, and the peaceful sound of the waves lapping against the boat.I had just pulled in my fishing line to check it, and what I saw was bizarre. My first thought was to make a wish, as a star with five points had fallen out of the heavens. The star was the same color as the sun setting atthe end of another busy day.As I unhooked the huge starfish, it felt course, and reminded me of sandpaper. As I throw the starfish back into the muddy sea, I said a prayer...That this fish would not become rare, and that someday I would be back to share this moment with another generation.
