(Written for Mother's Day, 2003 (UK)). Mother, you have been with me all of my life In everything you do, you show you care From childhood to maturity, through all strife I can always rely on you to be there Through tears and tantrums, laughter and times of peace Amidst bitter resentment, in times of war You constantly forgive, you are a spring breeze You are the peacemaker, that's what mums are for I'd like to thank you for ev'rything you do They make a difference, all the many little things For conversation, companionship, advice too The unconditional love that only a mother brings I want to end this verse with a vote of love A hug, a kiss and a bouquet of flowers No greater love, surpassed only from above Your rose's perfume permeates all bowers.
