You loved me from my time of birth. Your gift to me, life on this earth. Your sweat and tears you poured in me. Your sacrifices, so bitter but sweet. All you gained and gave away. All you endured, the pain you faced. Yet strong you stay to raise me right. Your hopes and dreams so dim but light. That one day the child you hold Will become a woman, black, beautiful and bold. To walk the path, you set the pace. So steady I walk, within this race. All I am and all I know I learned from you, your heart and your soul. So let me take this chance to say To you ,my mother, on your special day; I love you like the air I breathe. You’re my love, my life, my everything.
