The sand is sparkling under the sizzling shine of sun As the soothing sea-sound invigorates my burning ears But then an unbalanced blanket crease of cloud layers disguise away the now quite faint sun As the air around me awakens and arranges into a silent lowland blow The distinct and repetitive sound of starving seagulls rings the old memories of years gone by, the long and winding veins from rock pools stretch outwards to meet the stubborn waves, the sea caves far to the beach sides are silent, lifeless and exciting There’s not a sound in the world, which is as wonderful as the sound of sea against the rocks The ice cream is whipped; the candyfloss is pink My face rises into a genuine smile And thanks to mummy and daddy being by my side That smile never sinks One day I would like to go to the seaside again Where so many families take their young ones for summer If only my family were still here to take me once more At least I have my dreams of them
