While out riding one summer's day I passed a green pasture along the way In the meadow of bright sunlight Stood a colt bold and bright A touch of nature a sight to behold As I watched this scene unfold From the trees tall and lean Came a stallion looking keen Seeing his colt he seemed at ease Childlike play the colt would tease The colt was chided without force Parental nudging in the course Gentleness seen creating a bond Silently grazing by the pond Sunlight declines dusk falls Rest and peace consumes all
