You are old now; I see it not in years So much as eyes. I cared for you, Yet you got not half that you deserved. Your eyes are sunken, Your step an old woman's crawl, Yet the more graceful you are; With each passing day I see more beauty Than what was there before. You drift away To what thoughts I can't imagine, Your elderly wisdom Forever unknown. I look at you But no longer see life - Only a shadow Of what you used to be. I wonder, do you have regrets.
