Promises made, Never meant to be kept. The world spins round, It must have changed while we slept. Manipulation of the truth, Is the same as a lie. As Lawyers get fat, As a society, we die. Callused hands and a handshake, Would tell the truth of a man. Now even if it’s written, You’ll get screwed if they can. People sit around, Give me this, give me that. On the news I’ve heard the warnings, As a country we’re fat. Politicians use fear, And half-truths as tools, Dividing and conquering, Playing us for fools. Rich against the poor, Black against white. News report are stinted, But neither, LEFT or RIGHT. They’re in it for the ratings, They feed your fear, All you hear is the worst of it, Year after year. To pay attention, To what’s going on. Is the only way to fight it, If you don’t, they’ve won. Listen for yourself, Don’t just sit there and be told, The truth is out there waiting, Because it pays to be bold.
