VERSE 1: Battered and torn she’s only sweet sixteen Tryin’ to get by without makin’ a scene, Mixed up emotions – angry and sad The whole world around her is makin’ her mad, She’s losin’ her head and lost her laugh She didn’t know where she headin’ down which kinda path CHORUS: It’s a heart of emotions Draggin’ her down, Lost and lonely As her family frown, All that she prays Is that one day she will grow, Into a woman So then she’ll know, It’s only her heart of emotions That one day will make her strong VERSE 2: She guna make it in this world cause she's come this far No turnin' back she promised her ma and her pa, Cause it ain't easy being young no, no , no But she holds her head high wherever she go, Nobody tellin' her what she should do She's left her old life and startin' anew
