All alone, bored sitting on your couch Nothing good on the t.v. and no good leftovers in the fridge. Mid November, Saturday night, you're left with no plans. Try to call a friend, they're not home Call a few more, they're all busy. It's hard to be content while you're alone You can't stand the boredom any longer You climb out of your old couch, full of crumbs from the chips you just ate. Slip your feet in your shoes Grab a jacket, put on your gloves that you found at the top of the hallway closet. Open the door take a step outside. Outside of your messy house, your unperfect world. Many of your neighbors say hello, but you're to embraced in the night sky to respond You work your way through some people: an old married couple, a man walking his dog, a mother carrying her weary baby. Street lights pop on, one by one. Not a lot of cars in the street, maybe a few buses. You walk past a few houses, watching the families inside settling down. Some people have their Christmas lights up, you stop for a moment to admire them. While you stare at the lights, it begins to snow. The snowflakes, no two alike, fall on the trees and onto the roofs of some houses. The cold snowflakes land on your rosy cheeks. While you embrace the lights, you think you wouldn't rather enjoy this night with anyone else.
