Last night I dreamed I was walking a path The path of memories The sky was dark and gloomy No light that I could see. My soul felt cold and empty Wind whistled through the trees As memories flew by me Dancing in the breeze. I prayed to God for guidance I feared I'd lose my way As dark and dreary voices Beckoned me to stay. I started losing hope That I'd make it home alive When came a brilliant light Shining down from the evening sky. It spoke to me in comfort It kissed away my tears It told me life's a journey One travels for so many years. I woke with greater knowledge Of what the dream had meant I knew the voice of comfort Was truly heaven sent. Though I will always love you And want you here with me I know I cannot live my life Held captive by your memory.
