Fallen… into the bowels of despair, the acid further eating away an already fragile psyche until like proteins broken down into its constituent amino acids, we too are broken down, instead of rebuilding ourselves we simply wasted away. We were gifted once, endowed with the beauty of youth the suppleness of mesmerizing charm a simple word or better a flash of lashes and a guttural purr unmistakable signs of attraction unstoppable we were, magic in the simplest form, any man, any place till trapped in our own chemistry we turned Jekyll to Hyde initially it was a jolt, a push, a high then there was no difference, no distinctions between who and why we seek ravenous vampires roaming the nightlife fearsome, lovely, and unstoppable. Immortality was a belief, And as such it changes with the passage of time time does not deny it’s markings it will stand, it will stink like musk that never wanes, we slowly stank, our clothing, our hair, our entire body, our bowels and intestines there was nothing clean we stank and everyone around us knew it we denied our odor, we put up masks and we continued to work our magic but there was no audience and we were continuing to stink in our hole For how long we stay in that hole we don’t know a well leading straight to hell the top sealed with granite falling ceaselessly… till we cried out from the hollow that are our lungs “God, help me!” the granite was lifted, a beam of light enveloped our cold bodies lifting us warm tears formed and crystallized our whole body riveting with newfound energy a metamorphosis taking place… we had grown wings, strong enough to lift us airborne and be reborn.
