In the hurly burly torrents of space, Where we for future hope must launch our aim, For exhausted earth is worn by human claim, And we to feed the world must seize this trace. Expansion is the only sane most choice, Though others dwell on here and now for scope, Say in our small world’s care must learn to cope, Condemn politicians’ bold vision voice. But it takes money piled in such measures, That choosing Mars has hobbled the Hubble, Where I would pay from the globe’s fine treasures, Not dwarf achievement or burst the bubble. It is our duty not for sheer pleasure, To stretch out to stars to reach full measure.
