Life begins with single breath The only sure things are taxes and death Keep going through the motions Holding no preconceived notions Pulling no punches There are no free lunches You try as you might Sometimes life’s a bite You continue the struggle You put together the puzzle This is your life Avoiding strife Must things always be this way? Who’s to say? There comes a day Someone must pay When we’re up against a wall When we must make the call Take the plunge Escape the grunge And take a stand for something Or fall for anything There comes a day Someone did pay When we must choose a side Enjoy the ride Play for a team filled with lies and deceit Face certain defeat Or play for a team that can’t be touched The cross must be clutched It is truly our own choice To hear the eternal voice No one can tell us which is right To live be faith and not by sight
