 Poem:

FROM MOM ON YOUR 21ST BIRTHDAY

It seems like only yesterday
When we were blessed with you
Our darling baby girl
A little life brand new

With a mop of silky satin hair
You hardly made a sound
As you entered our world with ease
Our joyful tears you found

A beautiful daughter
To join our only son
A new life in our family
By the grace of God begun

We watched as you explored your world
Even then with cupboard love
You had to know what was behind
Those doors and drawers above

From day one you captured many hearts
Making memories in our past
Of chocolate mousse, and sticky fings
In pictures that will last

From a head of dark brown ringlets
To a crown of sleek long hair
Out of cuddly baby face
Stunning looks compare

You could never keep a secret
From those who knew you well
For whenever you had done wrong
You simply had to tell

Your compassion and a tenderness
That ever leaves a touch
On those hurting, whom you’ve listened to
They love you very much

Although not an academic
Your Dad and I agreed
You proved yourself in beauty
And therapy we all need

Your friendship, care, respect and trust
Have meant so much to me
My darling baby girl
You will always be

Yes, 21 whole years have passed
Of precious time, it’s true
By God’s grace just the beginning
Of many more with you.

Love and God bless
Mom xxx

Anna GonsalvesThis is so beautiful...it touched my heart. My daughter turns 21 on 24th November 2009. May Almighty shower you with beautiful ideas to pen down more beautiful poemsIndia - Goa11/7/2009 11:48:02 PM
Rae AnnI searched the web for months trying to find an inspiration for the inscription to a silver plated teapot that I am giving to my daughter this year as she turns twenty-one. Your poem reminded me so much of my love for Haley. I think your line, "my darling baby girl You will always be" captures the heart of it all so perfectly. Thanks for your insight.U.S.A.9/19/2009 2:27:34 AM

SallyI have searched high and low and searched my brain for the right words I want to have written and framed for my daughters 25th birthday. She is a daughter that I know I can always count on, she is a The NEST big sister to her 12 yr old year little sister. The love she has for my husband of 2 years (her step dad) is amazing. She now counts him as her Dad as her dad has stepped out of the picture. With changing just a couple words, this is exactly what I want to say to my daughter. Thank you so much for writing thisMilton NH USA5/22/2009 8:33:05 AM
