 Poem:

VITALITY

A country so proud

Voices of prayer mourn, loud

Another bomb lands

Twisted by fate, like dessert sands

A torn up city

A lifetime of history lay destroyed, such a pity

The beauty of the flag, covered by ashes

Step by step, civilization dashes

The land we sculptured with our love

He sees it too, the inventor from above

Every battle, every sting

Every action which will never make a peasant a king

Standing still is not the answer

Like the rhythm of a dancer

Waves in the calm, deep ocean

Mesmerize our motivation like a potion

The price of each delight, and a single grain

Our bloodshed, our streets gathered in wane

Children dying inside

No one will confide

But you can’t see through the open road
The ruins and tears briefly erode

You don’t want to know, to feel, to hear

That your last breath could be so close, so near

Don’t speak of the little truth you know

Because every splendor comes with a woe

Noel VillarosaRegarding war, devastation, hope, prayer, love, and refuge, you have put all the key words here in your poem that makes it expressive enough to relate your message to mankind as a reminder. This I enjoyed reading Ms. Yulia.Philippines4/28/2009 2:10:21 AM
