BROKEN BOOTS
There is an old forgotten Soldierwho stands on the corner of our streetdressed in worn out clothingwith broken boots upon his feet,He once served his country bravelyin distant foreign landsbut his sacrifice is forgottenand upon that street he stands,Alone now and forgottenby the very country that he servedhomeless cold and lonelyis this what he deserves?He fought in wars he did not ask forbut was proud to do his partand those wars have left him brokenand wounded his once proud heart.Now he stands forgottenon that corner of our streethis proud spirit as brokenas those boots upon his feet...
