DADDY'S LOVE
This is in memory of my fatherWho died when I wasVery YoungDaddy you left so soonBefore I could say goodbyeI found myself wondering if you knewI had these thoughts of youDaddy do you remember whenWe would play possum just to have youPick us up in your strong armsAnd carry us in the houseDaddy do you remember whenWe were sick..you would come tuck us inAnd kiss our forehead so gentlyAnd say I love you.Saying I love youWas something hard for you to doWhich is why we felt so specialWhen these words you saidDaddy do you remember whenWe would watch the old shows togetherAnd laugh..Daddy do you remember whenYou would go hunting for pheasant and bring backFeathers for us to have.Sometimes tickling our nosesDaddy do you remember whenYou would show us you cared in so many waysSometimes without saying a wordJust a smile would doDaddy do you remember leaving usThat snowy winter daySaying goodbye and not knowingYou would be going awayDaddy I remember these things You are missedYou should see your family nowAn extension of you lives onThey know you.. even tho you are goneDaddy I hope you knewOur lives were so empty without youBut one thing..you should knowAs we did as we grewDaddy's love is something we all knewAnd when I look to heavenI smile at you
