 Poem:

THE STORM

The storm prevails
in the deepest parts
of my fragile, vulnerable self.

The waves of thoughts
lash wildly
at the foundation of my structure.

Ominous, dark,
they toss about
debris, from past conflicts waged;

Callous, violent,
they swirl me down
into the whirlpool vortex.

Churning out rapid
the filth potential
buried long ago, by an unseen Force.

With every striking wave
I dive deeper,
to rise up once again.

An outstretched hand
for tranquility a cry
to the One who stilled the waves.
