I remember the warmth of your hand in mine, the comfort I found in your welcoming eyes, and the hypnotizing melody when you said I love you. That connection that existed between us, my lifeline, severed.

Was it just a joke? Did you really mean it every time you said I love you? Were you wincing each time we kissed? You said you wanted to be here, with me, forever.

I wish upon a star, I wish upon another day, another time, to be with you again, just for a moment or two.

Do you know where I am now? Here, at our special place, the place we kissed and laughed under the sun. I sit here now, cold, helpless, and alone. Is this what it feels like to die?

Whispers in the Wind by Reid Nakamoto

I lie beneath inky black expanses, the cold from it encasing myself. It seals me in here, dark, cold, and alone. Separated from all else. The worst of ways to die. I try to endure this, as I continue to listen to the wind blowing by, whispering stories of what once was.
