Kay

At last I see a path so clear
Through the darkness of my mind,
It leads me to my Saviour dear
Where I shall always find
A love that never lets me go,
A love that holds me near,
A love where my God says ‘tis so,
I have saved your every tear.
For precious are the tears that flow
From my beloved’s eyes
And when in prayer you oft times go
Even precious are your sighs.’

YOU LIFT ME UP by Gail P. Kay

Down through the ages since time began
The wind carries the sound of women
Weeping for their men.
Called to fight and called to die
The wind forever carries the sigh
Of love, lost, and gone,
And left alone
I hear it moan
As it whips and whirls
through this my time
without reason and without rhyme.
And hearts once filled with love and lust
Move on ’til they too are as dust.
And still the wind carries all,
unseen, unknown,
Until time doth end,
The sound of women
Weeping for their men.

A ROAD TOO FAR by Gail P. Kay

A moment,
a thought,
a heartache;
No way around
the grief.
Silent, savage pain
Slices through
The soul,
And eyes blink
And glaze,
Unable to focus
On a world now
So barren and lonely;
I bow
My head
And suffer silently
The loss of you.
Eternity is
A road too far,
Yet you are on it
And I am left to grieve,
Alone.
OUR ROAD by Gail P. Kay

We can lead a horse to water
But we cannot make him drink;
We can lead a man to knowledge
But we cannot make him think;
And no one else can do those things
That only we can do;
So as we go through life
To ourselves we must be true.

God has set a task for everyone
He has a special plan
For each and every life on earth
For every child, woman and man.
Although we seem to lose our way
And we think we cannot see,
The path ahead is lit by love
If in His grace we be.

WALKING THE WAY by Gail P. Kay

Don’t compromise your standards;
Walk the road less trod;
Live according to His word.
And you’ll find your way to God.
In everything you do
And at the end of everyday
Reflect on how he loves you.
Even when from his path you stray.

Although oft times we fail Him,
Although sometimes we fall,
He will never let us go
For He loves us all.
Then when the twilight years
Come upon our waking days
We can rest in Him, in peace,
Knowing we tried to walk His ways.

I CHOOSE WHO I SHALL BE by Gail P. Kay

Don’t tell me that I can’t be free
Don’t say those words to me!
I shall fly like the eagle
And swim the deepest ocean
For my God is greater than all
The problems that the world
Has thrown at me!

I choose!
Yes I choose to cast away
The shackles of yesterday.
And I choose to walk in freedom
Stepping gently through my life.
Because violence lashed my youth
I choose to leave it behind me
And walk in love even
When I don’t feel like doing it!
Because I choose who I am,
And who I will be,
And I won’t give the world
Power over me.

BLOOM by Gail P. Kay

Can you see the colour
In a world so bleak?
Can you see the flowers
Bloom every week?
Why fix your eyes
On misery and pain
Long gone,
Clutching it close
So you feel it again?
Let go! Be free.
The choice is yours,
Bloom where you are;
Your life can be flowers
To all who need
To be free,
Let go of pain.
Choose LIFE
And bloom again!

THE DISCOVERY by Gail P. Kay

Today I discovered
My heart can soar on the breeze
It can ride the wind above
The world of mediocrity
Full of minds blank and sodden
With their incessant repetitive
Stupor induced sameness.
I discovered I can break through
The clouds thick and grim
That push down upon man
And leave him blurbing
Meaningless words that
Lead nowhere.
I discovered a way to fly free
Above the well trodden road
That leads one in an endless
Twirling dance of pointless irony.
If I could tell you how I did it
You would not believe
So I fly in silent bliss
In solitude
And laugh.

LITTLE GIRL LOST by Gail P. Kay

I was a little girl lost
Swept away on the tide
Of life;
Helpless in the face
Of adult decisions.
Home disappeared.
Love disappeared
Cruelty and indifference
Swallowed me.
But I was not alone.
Locked away
in a small dark cupboard
fearful and lost
I talked to my grandma
Who was in heaven
And she was there
With me.
Raging against the world
My heart was yet
Sustained
By a love greater than all other;
God took pity
On a lost little girl
That the world was crushing
Smashing, torturing.
He held me close,
And the world
Was helpless.
WITH YOU by Gail P. Kay

I don’t know where it comes from
And I really could care less
But all this rotten spam mail
was making a real mess
Of the inbox in my email
And I was getting very cross
Until I found myself counting
As I hit the “ block” ’em box.
They are surely brainless morons
Who send out all this tripe
But instead of getting cranky
I count them without a gripe
And try to break the record
For the most I have deleted
And I feel I’ve won a victory
If that mail is not repeated!
DROUGHT by Gail P.
