Thompson

Dark clouds above with a show of hail
Lightening strikes within the vale
Stormy winds are on their way
Time to find the place to stay
From off the street I entered a door
Just to see such alot more
A selection of items, all shape and size
Could one of them be my only prize?
So many items spread in the room
So much of which was about to consume
For sale by auction on that day
Just what could be the price to pay?
On items that catch one's eye
May it be mine or just a sigh?
With a number of things that interest me
All began to wait so patiently
Upon the floor with so many more
People there to bid galore
The auctioneer begins his role
Facing the crowd he aims for his goal
So many items there to be sold
And be replaced by pieces of gold
A reasonable price for one to begin
And soon the ball is rolling
The attempt goes on again and again
To overtake and make a claim
The item has reached it's expected mark
And still the total lies in the dark
Three bidders are left with the auctioneer
Which one could it be standing so near?
Leaving the room of so much art
Together with what one could not part
The moment arrives, the hammer is heard
The winning bid is now referred
A nod of agreement is clearly seen
"Find the next item for those who are keen!"

THINE IS THE KINGDOM by James Stephen Thompson

"The Gift of Knowledge"
3+3+3

Spread the fire, are the words heard,
repeated again as the word is referred.
Crucified at the place of the skull,
on the third hour when all was so dull.

The third sentence of the Lords Prayer,
brought to mind for all to share.
"Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,"
and all the progress to be won.

An operation carried out,
within the skull, without a doubt.
To remove the scar or thorn of flesh,
with intension to refresh.

Plus prevent unwanted time,
of such seizures of the climb.
within the mind of such stress,
eventually reaching to excess.

So many years of such distress,
are now over to confess.
Jesus has the strength to guide,
the surgeons hand to decide.

To within the temporal lobe on three,
within the skull and there to see.
The thorn removed from within,
a born again life is sure to begin.

From the left to the right,
information transfers with invite.
Now stored within the right hand lobe,
on the nineth hour of the globe.

The hemisphere of the brain,
various arts and sensations to claim.
Joseph and Jesus having the gift,
and leading on to such a lift.

The ninth sentence of the Lords Prayer,
brought to mind for all to share.
"Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory,"
from such progress providing the story.

Thompson

Ward Round

A map at hand the plot does stand,
within a particular piece of land.
A visit onto the hospital site,
where so much is found to be such a fight.

Each entrance into the building on close,
as signs of "OUT OF ORDER!" oppose.
Another way in with no delay,
upon the wing away from the bay.

A bay to find upon the first floor,
but "OUT OF ORDER!" is on the lift door.
Steps are the way to reach the wing,
as a touch of thirst begs to begin.

Entering the ward and the rest room,
to study comfort plus consume,
from a vending machine to the left,
"OUT OF ORDER!" for patient and guest.

What can come next upon this round,
where sign after sign is sure to be found.
Words printed on paper, shown so bold,
no one can miss the message their told.

"OUT OF ORDER!" on the closet door,
where water is leaking and found on the floor.
A cone in command, there to commit,
a comment of care, "DO NOT SLIP!"

A major message upon the wall,
"NOW WASH YOUR HANDS!" permitted to all.
No soap on show within the bound,
cold water collects with vibration and sound.

With so much said on shows of hygiene,
by so many doctors feeling that keen,
how can the state of the health site,
need to face such a desperate fight?

With many light bulbs dead not alive,
and such situations having to strive,
to only convert unto the light,
and out of darkness, dark as night.

There to be seen staff wear white coats,
whilst on patrol with patients and notes.
Such a regular reading on the surgical site,
where finding ones way can be such a fight.

"LET THERE BE LIGHT!" are the words heard,
as problem by problem is referred.
Patients present, "OUT OF ORDER!" on show,
upon their notes, found in a row.

Finding so many faults here in,
walls of the building in need to begin,
the Kingsway route had to be found,
to discover this mountain so well crowned.

"FAITH!" as small as a mustard seed,
is enough to move a mountain in need,
so let it be shown with no delay;-
"EVERYTHINGS DONE IN AN ORDERLY WAY!"

BREAK! by James Stephen Thompson

Obey the Lord every day
north to south or other way
Be set above nations on the earth
obey the Lord and know what its worth
Be blessed in the city and country through
blessed when you come and blessed when you go
The Lord does deal with any foe
rising up but defeated believing they know
From one direction coming upon
from seven directions fleeing from one
The Lord providing a blessing too
to everything one puts his hands upon to
Just simply obey commands of the Lord
and power throughout shall surely sword
With a strong feel of flames within
plus his praises now to begin
And finding from the point of go
It’s hard to reach an end on show
With positive need of a greater fuse
and remarks from the master, “I can’t refuse!”
“Master mind,” pronounced with power
“We need more strength as work does tower”
“You’re fused!” are the words stated so sure
“With courage and faith you do endure”
Words released from the masters mouth
admitting not knowing north from south
“Just know the Lord and bear belief,
be on the path, turn the leaf”
Being the words of the redeemed
now taking over, it surely seemed
And reaching the point holding the sword
“You need a powerful fuse praising the Lord!”

CONVENT TO CONVERT by James Stephen Thompson

The convent built of precious stone,
and standing strong all alone.

Upon the hill this structure stood,
where all could see the cross of wood.

There to signify success,
of the Lord whom all does bless.

Crucified at "The Place of the Skull,"
on the third hour when all was so dull.

Sisters walked across the way,
within the walls where all did stay.

Sister Sandy, Sister Sue,
joined by Sister Sally too.

They walked with grace across the ground,
and hardly make a single sound.

Entering through the arched doorway,
kneeling down they prepare to pray.

Facing the altar on the east end,
there to assemble and to attend.

For the greatest commandment of the ten;-
"love the Lord your God with all, amen."

The second one too;- "love neighbour as self."
What could come next upon the shelf?

All three sisters stood in a row,
there to be washed, white as snow.

With their King James open on the line,
what was found was so divine;-

"If wish to be great, must work hard,
and wish to be first, must be scarred."

The sisters stood there in the row,
to study the script within the glow.

THE GREAT NORTH RUN-BUPA! by James Stephen Thompson

The Bupa Great Northern run
Shall endure today by the gun
Newcastle being the starting line
Onto South Shields during the twine
Of fiftytwo thousand runners at pace
Determined to run and obtain their place
Weather is good beneath a blue sky
From where the sun does shine so high
Upon the shoulder for all to suffer
Well supported by help for each other
During the time to cover the course
Of thirteen miles to fix by force
Help at hand by contact with cheer
By supporters playing their part so dear
From points along the path to run
Within the hot and humid sun
Surrounded are runners by witnesses
Who see a long to throw off what hinders
Wishing to run and sure believe
The race marked out one shall achieve
“Let us fix our eyes on the Lord
Who to the end does watch and award”
Opposition does grow from the start
Although one must not retire or loose heart
He shall rebuke and punish too
Throughout the time to see one through
Endure hardship as discipline
What son is not by his father within
God does discipline us for our good
That holiness we my share and should
As signs of pain begin to appear
On the face of runners receiving a cheer
All of them trained for the event
For feeble arms and weak knees prevent
The promenade now proceeds into view
A straight and simple path to see through
Charities again pull in what is caught
From all athletes providing support
Crossing the line with a sigh and a spit
“Boo Pa!- I managed it!”
Thompson

The Guide The Light "Blue Falls as Green Climbs"

6CO2 + 12H2O ---> C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 6H2O

An age of abundance within office walls
With force of work like the Niagara falls
So much to see, hear and feel
With signs of defeat on the uneven keel
Through scenes with the baton upon the blue
To further shades of blue to pass through
Shades of blue upon the face
Lack of fresh air and lack of space
So many shapes and shades of blue
Upon the blue where work just grew
Growth of work piling high
Catching and reaching a clear blue sky
From the carpet, blue to view
Through the building built so new
Blue notice-boards that beckon throughout
All equal in size and shape no doubt
The system upon the screen to see
A shade of blue too much with its tree
The necessary tread for one to take
A need of a switch and healthy break
Need of glucose one is told
Green and yellow are the colours behold
Time for a change a break from blue
Out into the open one must go
Green the colour to focus upon
Through scenes of Derbyshire with the baton
Green creates the country through
Growth of scenery to follow so true
So many shapes and shades of green
Upon the path shown to be seen
North, South, East and West
Scenes of Derbyshire to be blessed
A calm stroll across the green
Where colour comes in to be seen
Lemon, Gamboge, Yellow Ocre too
Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umba too
Crimson, Cobalt clear on view
Ultramarine a darker shade too
Vermilion, Veridion also on show
Whilst Black and White get to know
The cloudless sky, green does outdo
Over the green with growth so new
Why oh why with the task
Call the grounds “The Peak,” I ask?
Perhaps the grounds for hide and seek
Or play peep-bow to their own technique
Such methods to mind upon the blue
With piles of blue, so hard to search through
Such methods to find upon the green
Upon the green, so fresh and clean
Such a choice of shoots to see
Upon each shrub, upon each tree
From the ground shoots standby
As squirrels forget their hidden supply
Whilst out on search for yet more food
And then to hide from those that intrude
Appearance of more, gradual and sure
A quick and furtive glance to ensure
The search goes on and shoots increase
Specific areas more nuts do release
Into the light, the open, the scene
Shoots from the soil, for yet more shades of green
Here to search and now discover
The favourite spot of the squirrel recover
Serve they do, year by year
By setting the seeds in the forest so dear
Bringing to mind work upon blue
Such poor response from the coping crew
All to be seen and shown to have failed
As a build up of pressure as more work is bailed
Shades of green, words so found
Signs of force patrol the ground
Green does beat the colour blue
Growth of oxygen and glucose, water too
Through the winter, no green in sight
With all at rest and taken as night
Blue goes on and on and on
Having no choice on the edge and done
Each nut failing on the fight
And loosing the baton through force and fright

James Stephen FAITH-LITTLE LOVE by James Stephen Thompson

Times are not easy, times are tough
You cannot desire the gifts enough
Now to show the most excellent way
Accept and do not be lead astray
To speak in tongues of angels and men
but not have love things entangle again
One is only a resounding clang
From the cymbol after a bang
If one has the gift of prophecy
To fathom knowledge and mystery
If one has faith to move a mountain
But not have love then nothing will gain
Love is patient, love is kind
It does not envy remains refined
So follow the way of true love
And gifts of the Spirit desire thereof
Especially the one of prophecy
Strengthen, encourage and comfort, agree?
Speaking in tongues edifies one
Unless revelation or knowledge comes along
Word of instruction or prophecy too
Like the sound of a trumpet coming through
With the tongue speak an intelligible word
Or how does anyone know what they’ve heard
Since being eagar for a Spiritual gift
Waste no time and sure be swift
Tongues a sign for unbelievers
Believers however prophecy achievers
The presence of visitors entering in
Now for a start to begin and win
Being heard speaking out in tongues
“You’re out of your mind,” is the sentence that comes
“Fortell events, convince for sure
He is a sinner judged by all
And the secrets of his heart
Will be laid bare there from the start”
Time does pass, events do shine
As more and more intertwine
Have the faith and show love too
The Lord shall certainly guide one through
One can only accept as they fall down before
Exclaiming, “God is with you for sure!”

NEW DAWN by James Stephen Thompson

Twilight and night begins to fade,
as signs of light show in the shade.
Of land upon which life does live,
there to receive what light does give.

Dew on the surface of life around,
the morning chorus with its sound.
So much brings stories of nature on show,
and adds much more to the evening glow.

The past has gone, not to return,
the present is here with thoughts and concern.
The future days are still to come,
with trust in the Lord to be guided on.

Shining brighter to the full light of day,
and not so easy to stumble or stray.
All begun by the break of new dawn,
and along the path one is to be drawn.

WHICH SIDE? by James Stephen Thompson

I sat in a chair to the left of the room,
facing a friend on the right I presume.

Holding my pen within the left hand,
she had hers on the right I understand.

With a pad of paper on the other side,
notes were made of who to be guide.

"If i'm on the left and you on the right,
who do we follow within our sight?"

Questions were asked unto the brain,
we waited for answers to get us in lane.

"Thinking of which side do we use,
with two hemispheres, where are the clues?"

The conversation continued on,
and even more questions thrown upon.

"I might be this side facing you on that,
why does it matter where your sat?"

Heaven is that way and Hell is this,
we might have solved the simple quiz.

"We put our trust in the Lord,
and shall be guided by the sword."

OUR HIDING PLACE by James Stephen Thompson

Strikes of lightening to the ground,
amongst and through regions to be found.
A time of disturbance close at hand,
throughout this measure of coastal land.
A strong wind arose out at sea,
as a storm picked up as all did flee.
The heavens opened with a hail,
blown inland by the strong gale.
Waves of the sea thrown so high,
and upon many rocks so close by.
To be upon land was such a relief,
whilst seeing the action beyond belief.
A crash of thunder from up high,
within a deep and depressing dark grey sky.
Many people rushed home as it came,
"the hiding place from the storm and rain."
Protection of life within the stone walls,
as the weather present continues its rours.
"Amid violent winds on a stormy day,"
to allow the weather to end its play.

MAKING A MOVE by James Stephen Thompson

Meeting by meeting, voice after voice,
such an occasion but one has no choice.
Questions asked time after time,
"You still have yet a long way to climb."
Continuing on day after day,
One begins to wonder, "can I stay?"
"His foundation stands firm is what I hear,
Read and heard so very clear.
Days of the past and laying out chairs,
plus listening to what one declares.
Have gone for good as the present brings,
signs of technology on its wings.
Days have arrived for laying out words,
and prevent reaccence of what has occured.
A workman of whom God does approve,
shows the sign of making a move.
Attracting attention of so many rows,
the conference slowly comes to a close.
"The Lord knows those who are His,"
and use to fight the way that is.

GOD CREATED by James Stephen Thompson

In the beginning created by God,
new Heavens and earth was His job.
There on the first day He formed light,
He seperated darkness now called night.
Expanse of water and the sky,
bearing fruit on earth as time passed by.
Expanse of the sky marking day from night,
God gave sun and moon producing light.
Into the waters creatures appear,
new in the sky were birds so near.
It was on the sixth day animals came,
new to this earth and not all tame.
God made them all, large and small,
given for reasons to suite all.
On this day man was made,
divine image of God displayed.
Sent to look after all the earth,
and produce decendents formed from birth.
It was on the seventh day God did rest,
done was His work now to be blest.

THE POUNDING WAVES by James Stephen Thompson

A strong wind blew out at sea,
and made its way towards the quay.

The waters edge had reached full tide,
as it forced its way with such pride.

Thrown upon the promenade,
and hitting land oh so hard.

Sounds of gales blown inland,
making the effort too much to stand.

Thunder out upon the sea,
as pounding waves appear to be.

Such strengths shown within the view,
and showing signs to continue.

Reminding one of Psalm ninety-three,
"The Lord on high is so mighty."

SUNSET by James Stephen Thompson

I studied the sky at the start of the night,
to see the red glow was such a delight.
I stood on the pier to watch the sunset,
and studied the scene of a silhouette.
The sun reflecting from the sea,
across the waves and up to me.
There on the sea stood out the sails,
of a few boats catching light gales.
All so quiet except for the sound,
of splashing waves within the bound.
They cought the light from the sun,
as they hit the beach to end their run.
It brought to the mind a certain key;-
"he who doubts is like a wave of the sea."
The feel of Gods presence around the bay,
a pleasant close to another day.

SPIRIT OF NEW YEAR by James Stephen Thompson

In such silence the crowds await, when,
the moment arrives with chimbs of Big Ben.
Commencing the time of new years day,
and so many fireworks on display.
Lighting up the dark night sky,
In all directions colour does fly.
A show of patterns all shape and size,
forming a bright and colourful disguise.
To the midnight atmosphere,
all so close and very near.
Sounds adding more to the show,
and rays of light continue to glow.
Crowds of viewers welcome in,
a start to a new year determined to win.
All the scenes on show above call,
reflecting from water by the wall.
Of the river through the way,
finding its route with no delay.
Keeping the thoughts in mind for each day,
the spirit of new year cannot go away.
