-one by one
See the age lines as they form -on their fragile faces

Look at their travelled lives and you see your days to come
See them as they turn frail -dwindling slowly
Take notice as they quickly change -turning back to children

Look around, noticing as they slowly slip away
You can not stop it -nor reverse the process
Accept what the future has in store -as we await our turn

See the matrons one by one -fall to silent grief
They guard themselves with memories -half truths remembered
Their lives are long forgotten -except for fading photographs

Stand and face the mirror and you will see your mother
Vanishing is your youthful look -greying is your hair
Cherish what you can remember -for soon it will be a blur

Greedily we live our lives and forget those who raised us
Assuming they will be here forever -but one day they will be gone
Sadly we watch their minds stolen -while we await our turn Marie Schmidt

Never should a parent be
Without the love of her family

From the children they do share
When they age the kids should care

A child's love comes shining through
No harsh words between them and you

Above all others they should rate
Your parents well being is in your fate

When they're sick you drop your life
They come before your husband or wife

Your mother placed at number one
Before your life and any fun

The child's love is like no other
Between the child and their mother

Your fathers wealth should not come first
Before he's dead and in the hearst

Changing places as they age
Play the part, take the stage

Care for them before the die
You'll never get another try

A child's love should always be
The first and foremost priority

The saying goes wait and see
What you do them, will be done to thee

Take my warning, mark this day
You'll be punished for acting this way

A child's love should never be
So soon forgotten so naturally

What goes around comes around....
And its almost gone full circle

Angel Schmidt

Lost within your mind
Not knowing what is ahead
Lost within yourself
Your memories they have fled

The disease that takes your life
Steals away your dreams
Forever buried deep inside
Coming out in only screams

Trying to remember
Lunch, your house, your home
Trying to make sense of it
At night while you roam

Sitting in the chair
Wondering what to do
Forgetting who you are
Forgetting family too

Knowing you have family
But can't remember names
At times you are so serious
But most are fun and games

You know not what your doing
While you scream, kick and fight
God watches over you
While you wander through the night

Alone in your existence
Trying to make sense
Wanting to protect you
Without making you to tense

Guiding you to the table
To have a meal or two
Or changing your pajamas
While you insist that it is not you..

My heart is heavy as rock
While I watch you struggle with your pain
I would gladly give you anything
To have you back again
Guilt by Angel Marie Schmidt

A heavy burden within your heart
The feeling of unrest
Try to believe you conquered it
The guilt is left at best

You convince yourself and others too
That you did everything you could
But what your suffering at this point
Is the guilt we always knew you would

Faulty visits, uncaring words
Pretending that you cared
It all comes out in the end
The guilt has got you scared

Time has come to face the truth
Your words were strong and cruel
You can't turn the hands of time
The guilt is stronger than you knew

You can change but never make it up
To the one you lost
This is the chance, to make amends
To fix the guilt at all cost

Don't forget one lives on
She needs her family dearly
Try to do what's right
And tend to her needs more clearly

Take the guilt and put it to work
Correct the things gone astray
For some time in the near future
We'll be on this road again one day

The guilt will get you, rape your mind
and drive you clearly insane
So forget the past and live today
Maybe the guilt will ease to pain

Stop the fighting, the yelling too
End the silly spats
No longer should you act this way
Or forever the guilt will last
AS YOU SAY GOODBYE by Angel Marie Schmidt

He's in my heart, he's a part of me
I've tried to hide, to set him free
He needs so much more, than I can give
He deserves a life, where he's free to live

I hide the pain, deep within my heart
The days alone, a world apart
He needs so much more, than I can share
I'm just a girl, I'm just the spare

I laid besides him, I began to cry
I prayed to God, and just asked why
This is where I belong, along side this man
So tell me Lord, just when I can

I know he feels it, when we touch
The longing for love, he deserves so much
A part time lover, many miles away
Will we ever be together, will our love stay

I long for his heart, I weep for his kissing
Having him close, I know what I'm missing
He needs so much more, the months we're apart
It's not fair to his soul, it's not fair to his heart

He deserves someone, close by his side
To hold him and love him, and never have to hide
I want to be that woman, the one in his life
To live forever more, as husband and wife

For now I will live, and share what I can
Hold on to my dreams, and wait for my man
For tomorrow is coming, and soon it will be
The man that I love, and the man that loves me.....

He needs so much more, this man that I love

~angel heartache
from a to b
fighting back all the tears

and as it goes...
all the hurt built inside
never to come out
cept writing on Schmidt

Hard are these times since you went away
Sadness and grief has filled my days
The loss since you passed has caused such pain
The emptiness has settled there's nothing to gain

Knowing that you are with Him I have nothing to do
You are gone and forever lost, to those who love you
Your smiling face, endless giggles and all that singing
The lonely days are just my beginning

I've counted the hours, the minutes creep past
The memories and photographs will have to last
Your children are grown and your grandchildren too
Every one is empty since the passisng of you

I've cried and I've cried your passing so sudden occurred
Never did I see it coming it simply has blurred
Life is short, unyielding and so often unfair
The taking of a loved one, ripped from the people who care

I miss our long chats, the laughter and the cooking
Your sneaking the veggies when I thought you were cooking
Hot dogs in the truck, singing in the store
And now the knowledge is there no more

Visiting your sisters, watching you sleep
The only things left are the photographs I keep
God has taken you, you are safe at last
Away from your illness, away from your past

There is comfort and peace knowing you're at rest
My faith in the Lord knows He takes care of you best
I've played it out, over and over it's all in my head
The disease that you endured had finally spread

So rest my dear companion, the aunt I once had
Away from the pain and everything that's bad
I will remember you always, put a smile on my face
You have just departed to a much better place

Rest in peace my dear lady, forever to be missed
I will keep in my heart the last time we kissed
I gently “whispered goodbye” for no one to hear
God brought us together in the end that is clear

Sweet dreams for the eternity of life
Free of the pain and to suffer no strife
I will never forget you, my sweet dear aunt
My heart is bonded to you and simply I can't

~angel
Reality Sets In by Angel Marie Schmidt

I thought our love was open and free
Unfortunately sad, the joke was on me
I felt all of a sudden the reality set in
I'm here in the present and gone with the wind

There is no tomorrow, a lifetime ahead
Not all of the dreams or the words we once said
The bittersweet kisses, the hugs so safe and secure
I mistook them for love and so much more

Holding me close inside of his arms
Keeping me safe from all of lifes harms
I must have been dreaming or wanting to believe
He wanted me only, my love to receive

Tempting were the promises, to cherish and keep
I find myself alone, as I sadly weep
Alone in the night, awake with my fears
Time in the dark, collecting my tears

Dreams that have shattered and fallen from grace
Turned into shallow rivers slipping down my face
Open your eyes and accept what it is
Reality sets in, she truly is his

You are the other, not the one of his dreams
No matter what your thinking, no matter how it seems
Lifes cruel little joke is completely on you
There nothing more to it, there's nothing to do

So swallow your pride and your principles to
Hold your head up high, what else can you do
Know that you love him, from deep in your heart
Accept the fact quickly, that one day you'll part

You are the girl, the one on the side,
The one who is last, the one he will hide
You are here for awhile, so cherish each day
For too soon will come the time, when he'll go away

Reality sets in and your mind went on dreaming
So “Drive” in your heart while your soul is still screaming
Empty will be the nights for a long time to be
Waiting for someone to love only me...

~angel
First Grandchild by Angel a wedge straight thru my heart
Say the words that push us apart
Hurt my feelings, step on my soul
Take away everything, that made me whole

Make me cry, hurt me that way
I still will love you, everyday
Walk on my emotions, toss them aside
Nothing can change, the tears I have cried

Wanted your love, open and true
Thought it was different, coming from you
Deep is the wound, open and sore
Ripped through my heart, right to the core

Help me get thru this, this unbearable pain
The tears flow so easy, like the pouring rain
Wish it were different this life that we live
Have so much to offer, so much give

I have no right, for feeling this way
This is the price I am destined to pay
Love is beautiful and not suppose to hurt
Why is ours on edge and always on alert

Why must you hurt me, stomp on my feelings
Too much to ponder, while I should be healing
Love was suppose to be different, you promised it could
Hope and dreams broken, I knew that it would

Hurt knows no boundaries, the pain is still there
Then why do I love you, why do I care
My heart is not empty, not even blue
Even with this hurt, I still love only you

Angel 6/3/2010 is born
Life goes on
No one knows
Just when it happens
But one day
A miracle happens
The child has changed

The child is no longer
A man has taken his place
All grown up
Ideas have changed
Responsibility comes easily
Parents sit back and admire
The person he has become

Apron strings cut long ago
You cannot help but wonder
Will you always feel
The way you do now?
Prouder than anyone
Of whom he has become
Admiration beyond imagination

A parent's love
Enduring all else
Wanting to be needed
Knowing when to stand aside
A fate hard to accomplish
Needing to be wanted
As if the man has not emerged

The life he lives
Has room enough for all
The thoughtfulness in his heart
His caring ways
New hobbies he shares
With friends old and new
The man shines through

My son, my child
You are a man, this is true
To me you will always be
That child in my arms
Whom I loved from the Schmidt

I want to feel like the sand in the early morning sun
Covered with the glimmering shine of the morning dew
I need to wake within the security of your arms
Like a faithful old blanket on a cold and stormy day

I woke and I felt your presence standing by me
Gently covering me with your warmth and promises
Though I was alone in my slumber it was so real
I opened my eyes and there it was- It was just a dream

You were not there, I called to you; “Come to me”
I need to feel your love and warmth encompass me
I want to feel your love inside me, I belived it was so true
I cried when I fully realized- It was just a dream

I wait for you to come to me- to give me all you offer
I closed my eyes and you were there once again
Standing over me, caressing me with your eyes
And yet again it was still untrue- It was just a dream.

The long and lonely nights just haunt me, it is very cold
Like the emptyness of a cemetary filled with forgotten souls
The world has become a frequent shade of grey
The daylight has been covered with clouds and no sun

I swear I felt your breath- warm against my skin
You called out my name, asking for my love
I replied in a whisper, please take me while I lie here
And you reached out your hand but again- It was just a dream

You touched me with your lips, caressing me with kisses
There you held me close and passionately played the part
Like a lover from some romantic novel left upon the shelf
You made me shake and quiver and I cried- It was just a dream

The days grow longer and the nights are cold and lonely
My spirit will not be broken nor will my love for you fade
Some day you will join me and perhaps love me again
A smile and a glow will be the only clue- It was not a dream

Angel Schmidt

Those of us who are blessed each day
With friends who hail from far away
We extend our arms, our love, our home
To those of you who dare to roam

We gather round for for tales of past
Creating memories that always last
Some friends come and some will go
But tiny snapshots will always show

Our time together was surely blessed
For friendship captured is always best
A drink or two, a dinner meeting
Always starts with a hug for greeting

Years have come and years have passed
But through them all our friendships last
Of all the times we laughed and cried
Our feelings, emotions never died

Our hearts are open the joy still shows
As time goes on the bond still grows
We meet new people every day
Make new friends along the way

But its the ones you have for many years
That comfort you and dry your tears
We cry to say hello and specially when we part
They're always there within your heart

The love between us knows no bounds
Tried and true we hold our grounds
Something connects us this is true
Life would be emtpy without friends like you

Blessed are we to have good friends
To share good times where friendship blends
One by one we show we care
The things we do – the things we share

Love each of you more each day
Each one of you in a special way
You've touched my heart where friendship hide
For each of you my eyes have Marie Schmidt

Anxiety- the pain within from the fear unknown
Breathless-unable to breathe, fear that has suck the breath from within
Crying-tears that fall from being vulnerable
Desperate-attempt at gripping the reality that is long and far away
Exhaustion-emotion that takes up space and energy, the thief of life
Frantic-thoughts running through the mind without direction
Grounded-emptiness where safety should be, but missing
Helpless-feelings that you cannot control everything and wanting to
Insecure-scared of what's ahead, in life, in health, in mind
Justification-false hope, believing that it is not what it seems
Knowledge-knowing what and where, and how and why, but can't explain
Lost-the will to keep up with yourself
Meaningless-trying to fit it all in one 24 hour span
Numb-the feeling that life is too hard and complicated, wanting to give in or give up
Oppressed-everything inside that wants to do more than just exist
Panic-everyday soon as the eyes awake and knowing that sickness hides within
Quandary-the empty hole of existence, when you give up
Restless-needing to be constantly busy, yet having no energy
Shattered-the hopes of exploration in years to come
Terrified-that tomorrow is just a short time away
Uncertain-that life's second chance will continue on
Validate-accept no more denial, you are sick...
Wasted- the days spent JUST existing
X-the place where you should find what you are looking for
Yesterday-memories that will live on without you
Zero-the moments that should be spent alone and sad

Spring by Angel Marie
