Here you are, within me.
A little human being
growing inside.
Skin and bone,
heart and soul.
My eyes and your fathers smile.
You move me.
You make me glow.
I can't wait to hold your tiny hand.
You are the best thing that has ever happened to me.
My little miracle.

Here you are, within me.

but not in my womb.
Just in my heart.
Just in my head.

Through my life I had been pushed and shoved,
I felt so desperate to be loved.
Wanting someone to hold me close,
needing a lot more love than most.

Along you came and saved my skin,
I did not wonder where you had been,
It did not matter what you had done,
so you knew then that you had won.

Another weakling to control,
and you knew that I would bare my soul.
Then you could play on my weakness,
make me believe I was useless.

Abused by you, but could not see,
the sick way that you treated me.
Controlling me through every day,
I thought life should be lived your way.

Until one day I answered back,
I felt I did not need that flack.
You pressed your thumbs hard on my throat,
breathlessly, I began to choke.

Afterwards you apologized,
I saw you scared you would be chastised.
You said it all had been my fault,
How did I drive you to assault?

So that is when I walked away,
scared you would repeat that hurtful day.
Found out it was not your first time,
now you would pay for all your crimes.

I testified to what you had done,
no longer could you think you'd won.
Finally I felt I was free,
and looking back I now can see.

Through my life I had been pushed and shoved,
I felt so desperate to be loved.
Wanting someone to hold me close,
needing a lot more love than most.

Along you came and changed my skin,
I should have wondered where you had been.
It proved to matter what you had done,
but I am out now and I have won!

Baby of ours, you bring
Undeniable joy and we will feel
Never ending love for you.
Delicate and innocent child
Lay in our arms and feel our warmth wash over you.
Every where you go, our hearts are in your hands.

Only you can bring us such fulfilment,
For you are part of us and always will be.

Jubilation washes over us.
Only your smile makes us feel that way.
You make us complete.

Gushing
Waterfalls flow
To sparkling streams below
Rinsing through the debris of storms
That shook and ripped the luscious earth we know
And washed away the buttercups.
Mother nature renews;
Bright colours sprout,
Gushing.

Many shades of me and you
disguising what we have been through

Our hearts pushed from pillar to post
broken by those we loved the most

We feel such pain where we are now
try to move on, but do not know how

Truth is we are but minors here
left to face what we most fear

We just blend into this universe
and try to forget our secret curse

So many others feel pain too
so who should care what we have been through?

But in between this mess we are in
I see your light amongst the dim

It gives me faith to see you smile
if only for a little while

So, though we float with no clear route
I hear your cries, you are no mute

And all I hope is that you too
are here for me, as I, for you

Small and insignificant.
Beautiful;
planets in the night sky.
So close yet so, so far.
We drift past one another,
oblivious to the awe inspiring light
that each of us radiate.
When our sights finally meet,
blasts of colour intertwine
before our very eyes
and our sparkling surroundings
disappear into the background.
You show me your reds
and I my blues,
destined to float side by side we glow.
Brightening;
our insignificance becomes significant
in one anothers existences.
Together;
we shine.
